God cares about the broken places in our lives. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Would you pray with us for Pedro’s foot to heal? He’s a man who has spent his life walking to reach people. We’re asking God to get him back on his feet, literally, soon.

Between the laughter, the conversations, and the moments of quiet reflection, we pray their hearts were refreshed in the Lord.

Because our house sits right on the edge of the mountain, that closeness has pulled us into people's lives in ways we didn't plan for.

God is at work in Guatemala, and we are grateful to be part of it.

Years earlier he had walked those same roads carrying idols and tradition. Now he walked them again, carrying the gospel instead.

We headed back to Nuevo Amanecer, and what an adventure it was! The road, the hike, the people, and the beautiful reminder that God is at work even in the most remote places. We took pictures along the way, so we’ll let them tell the story!❤️ We’re so thankful for the opportunity to return, spend time with these young leaders, and continue investing in what God is doing there.

We are so thankful for the way God has provided people to walk alongside us in this season.

Not someone who arrived with a perfect record, but someone who knows, firsthand, what it means to be found by mercy.

June was busy! We finished up studying Finances God's way with the Purulah group! And started a new group in Tactic! A good size croud is coming out on Tuesday nights to understand what God says about finances! Walter was invited to officiate at his brother and his wife's vow renewal for their 30th anniversary. Before Jesus went back to heaven, He left us with clear instructions. He didn't say go and make followers, or go and fill up church buildings. He said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20, ESV). Make disciples. Not attendees. Not a number on a spreadsheet.

It was a privilege to spend some time encouraging these couples and reminding them that God cares about their marriages and their families.

Walter and I have been doing marriage and premarital counseling since the early days of our marriage, back when we definitely didn't feel like experts on the subject! 😂 This year we will celebrate 25 years of marriage, and while I don't think anyone ever becomes an expert at marriage, I do hope that we've grown in wisdom and in our understanding of what really matters. We love helping young couples get their marriage started well. We use a course called University of the Fam

We traveled to the top of the world to celebrate a quinceañera! (Turning 15 is an important birthday for girls here) And of course, we took turns holding a baby so the mom could enjoy her lunch.

Sometimes God uses us in ways we didn't expect. That's part of the adventure of following Him, being willing to walk through the doors He opens, even when they aren't the doors we would have chosen for ourselves.

Many of these students leave their homes in Peña del Ángel at 4 a.m., traveling by motorcycle or in the back of a 4x4 pickup truck for several hours just to get to class.
