Pastoral Training

Equipping God's people.

Over the years, we have seen God move in a mighty way here in Guatemala. Walter’s grandfather was one of the very first Christians in Tactic. When he gave his life to Christ, his family kicked him out of their home. Not long after, his mother became very sick. Desperate, his father came to find him and said, “Come and pray for your mother. If she gets better, we will become Christians.” Imagine the weight of that moment as he prayed for his mother’s life! God healed her, and the entire family came to faith in Jesus. What a miracle!

The church in Guatemala has grown rapidly. In the 1960s, only about 2% of Guatemalans identified as evangelical Christians. By the 1990s, that number had risen to nearly 35%. With so many people coming to Christ so quickly, the need for trained pastors and teachers has far outpaced the resources available.

Today, we walk alongside pastors who felt called into ministry before they could even read. Many never finished high school, yet they stepped forward in obedience to God’s call. Their hunger to know God’s Word is contagious. Some travel for hours, walking or riding in the back of pickup trucks, just to attend basic theology classes.

By equipping pastors to grow in their knowledge of Scripture and learn to “rightly divide the Word of truth,” we’re helping them teach faithfully in the villages they already serve. In this way, the gospel continues to spread into communities we ourselves could never reach.

Missionary Internships

Missionary Internships

Hands & Hearts

Our missionary internships are designed for those who want to grow deeper in their walk with God while serving in Guatemala. Interns live alongside us, experience Guatemalan culture firsthand, and are given opportunities to serve in the community.

The program includes Spanish classes, Bible teaching, mentorship, and intentional time set aside to seek God. Interns also help in practical ministry, encouraging pastors, supporting families, and even serving in classroom settings, where they may be the only Christian children encounter.

Each internship is personal and unique. Some come to explore whether God is calling them into missions. Others come simply to reconnect with Him in a new setting. Whatever the reason, interns leave changed, loving God more deeply and equipped to live wholeheartedly for Him wherever He leads.

Kingdom Encounters

Short term trips

We  welcome groups who want to grow in their vision, reconnect with God, and serve alongside local believers. These opportunities are tailored to fit each group’s unique calling and needs.

Pastors or leadership groups can come to participate in pastoral training or offer a retreat for local pastors. Women can come to minister to pastors’ wives who give so much of themselves in service. Families can come to explore missions together and introduce their children to a cross-cultural experience.

Each visit provides both a place of service and intentional time to rest, seek God, and enjoy His creation. Our desire is that you leave Guatemala not only having strengthened the body of Christ here, but also having grown in your own walk with Him.
