Guatemala is a land of breathtaking mountains, lush valleys overflowing with fruits and vegetables, and some of the warmest, most welcoming people you’ll ever meet. Yet behind the beauty lies deep need. With more than half the population living in poverty, physical challenges are everywhere, but the greater battle is spiritual.
The Need is Great
In a country where poverty is widespread and spiritual confusion runs deep, the light of the gospel is shining brighter than ever. For generations, Mayan religion and Catholicism blended together, producing a spiritual environment where people feel enslaved to rituals and works. Yet over the past 50 years, Guatemala has experienced an incredible movement of God, with Christianity growing rapidly. The hunger for truth is real, and the need for well-equipped leaders to rightly handle God’s Word has never been greater.
