Walter and Ruth

Walter and Ruth have been serving in Guatemala together since 2001. Over the years, their ministry has touched many areas, church leadership, men’s meetings, Bible studies, marriage and premarital counseling, kids’ clubs, teaching in schools, mentoring youth, and hosting short-term teams. They have also led three-month internships, provided housing for visiting teams, and taught both English and Spanish in different settings.
Today, their focus is on walking alongside pastors and their families, offering encouragement, prayer, and training to help equip them for ministry. Their hearts are to see God’s people strengthened and useful in His Kingdom, especially in rural villages where the gospel is spreading through faithful local leaders.
From their home in Tactic, Walter and Ruth also run a missionary internship program. Interns experience Guatemalan culture firsthand, take Spanish and Bible classes, and have intentional time to grow closer to God while serving in the local community.
Whether equipping pastors or mentoring interns, Walter and Ruth’s passion remains the same: to invest in people so that God’s Kingdom can flourish in Guatemala and beyond.
