Why Discipleship?
Before Jesus went back to heaven, He left us with clear instructions. He didn't say go and make followers, or go and fill up church buildings. He said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20, ESV).
Make disciples. Not attendees. Not a number on a spreadsheet.
Discipleship takes time. It's not a one-time event, it's a commitment. It means being part of people's everyday lives, not just showing up for the big moments. It's slow, it's personal, and honestly, it's harder than just getting people in a room. But it's what Jesus actually asked us to do.
That's why we're here. We want to walk with people, love them well, and help them grow, not just count them.
Visiting people in their homes is part of the "job" that we love.
