God cares about the broken places in our lives. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Before Jesus went back to heaven, He left us with clear instructions. He didn't say go and make followers, or go and fill up church buildings. He said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20, ESV). Make disciples. Not attendees. Not a number on a spreadsheet.

We are so encouraged because a group of pastors who graduated from the Global Action class in Purulhá approached us about having another class. They want to learn about finances and what the Bible has to say about them. Walter got busy studying, as he has never given classes about finances, and let me just say, what a great initiative on behalf of the pastors! Sometimes looking after physical needs is exactly what's needed.

Sometimes ministry looks a lot like ordinary life.

Sometimes we don't know what God is doing, or why He doesn't answer when we feel our situation demands immediate action.

So this is the story of us stepping out onto the water when we thought His plan was to take us by boat.
