We are so encouraged because a group of pastors who graduated from the Global Action class in Purulhá approached us about having another class. They want to learn about finances and what the Bible has to say about them. Walter got busy studying, as he has never given classes about finances, and let me just say, what a great initiative on behalf of the pastors! Money is often something we hesitate to talk about, but it's so important in our lives.

As Walter explained how work was not part of the curse, and how God provided it as a way for us to provide for ourselves and our families, you could see a mind shift happening. Work is a blessing from God! In the poverty mindset that we often encounter here in Guatemala, the idea of hard work, having to get up in the early morning, and hard labor under the sun can feel like a punishment, but God wants it to be a blessing!

Talking about work, most of the pastors and leaders we encounter have to work full-time jobs on top of pastoring. When they come to a day of teaching, they literally give up a day's income! They don't go to work, and they come to learn, because they also know how incredibly important deepening their learning is. We have felt led by God to try to supplement this in a tiny way by giving them a small bag of groceries to take home at the end of the day. It doesn't make up for their whole day of work, but their families are not suffering because of a missed day of income.

We couldn't do this without people generously supporting us financially. Thank you to those of you who are a part of our team! The pastors are incredibly grateful to God for providing through you!
